The Hardin County Habitat for Humanity is always on the lookout for people to help in our efforts. To become a volunteer you can fill out the application below or, just show up at our work site and ask for Howard.
There are many ways you can volunteer your time. One way is as a nurturer.
Each family that has been tentatively approved as a partner family will be appointed a nurturer from the HCHFH Nurturing Committee. The nurturer will become the family’s advocate throughout the process of building and buying their home. The nurturer also serves as the family’s training manager to ensure that the family attends the necessary training to prepare them for home ownership.
The nurturing program is a critical part of the Family Partnership process. It may take more than a year from the time the family is tentatively approved until they actually buy and move into their home. The nurturer stays with the family the entire time. This is a very rewarding part of the ministry. It is an opportunity to see real progress and to share the difficulties and the triumphs of the partner family. Anyone interested in becoming a nurturer should contact the HCHFH office at (270) 360-9900 or email hardinhabitat@yahoo.com for additional information.
We also need volunteers to staff our other committees: Real Estate, Family Selection, Fundraising, Finance, Volunteers, Hospitality.
We now have a ReStore. If you enjoy the Retail work, consider volunteering on day a week to help with receiving, displaying, marketing, sales, administration or pickup. Do what suits you best, at times that are most convient to you.
If you are interested in volunteering in any area please fill out the application below.
